Hi! I'm Caitlin Jewell.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this; I’d be incredibly grateful if you would consider covering my story. I’m on a mission to help small American businesses, specifically craft breweries, thrive through community engagement.

When the pandemic began, my husband Jeff and I had to close our brewery in Boston. We relocated to California. It was a heartbreaking decision, but I found a new path and a renewed purpose in helping the community I love.

Today, I teach spent-grain breadmaking at breweries across the country, showing class participants (often home brewers) how to transform brewing byproducts into delicious whole-grain bread. Though most of my classes are in California, this year, I took a leap and traveled coast-to-coast.

By the Numbers:

  • 27,800 Road Miles

  • 3,400 Breadmakers

  • 30+ Breweries

As some background, this breadmaking venture is only part of my work. I’m also a marketing consultant and co-founder of Crafted Destinations, my husband’s architecture firm that specializes in design for small breweries, restaurants, and hospitality businesses.

This fall, crisscrossing the country just before the election was especially meaningful. It’s been a privilege to meet people from all walks of life, hearing their stories, challenges, and hopes for the future.

I’d love for you to consider sharing this story. Feel free to reach out with any questions or ideas on how to make it even more engaging.

Thank you again!

I have a few story ideas:

  • Brewery Taproom Activations, What’s working?

  • Entertainment at Breweries beyond Bar Triva

  • Unique ways to draw new audiences and customers to your brewery

  • Critical secondary market vendors who support the craft beer industry

  • Life after owning a brewery, parlaying experience into a new genre of entertainment

  • Traveling Breadmaking School, a journey from brewery to brewery

This is a link to a photo bucket of class photos. I put this together for you to get a view of what the experience looks like. If you're going to use any of the photos please give me a head's up.

References: I have some incredible Brewery owners you should talk to! Experts on what's happening in craft beer right now, Taproom and Retail sucesss and challenges and more. Hit me up and I'll provide you with connections of folks that I've worked with that you should interview or get quotes from!
