Not sure about taking one of our classes? That's fine. You should do your research and find out what you're getting into. Our classes are not for everyone. If you hate breweries, shenanigans, chaos, dancing, fun or any of the general concepts covered in the movie Footloose, you probably should not take our class. These articles will give you a better idea of what you're in for.

"Grainbakers is on the rise

Former brewery owner Caitlin Jewell’s spent-grain breadmaking classes have been a success thanks to her enthusiastic teaching style"

SAN DIEGO BREW NEWS
February 4, 2025

SD Beer News had some fantastic things to say about our class at Pizza Port Brewing in San Marcos! We’re pretty lucky they captured such a glowing review — because if you were there, you’d probably describe it as a wild, off-the-hook, and totally rowdy party. At one point, most of the class was even dancing to Shaboozey! Check out the article to get the full scoop on the class and what to expect.

HOPCULTURE MAGAZINE

The one thing we want you to know about Grainbakers? It’s not just about bread.

Author, beer geek, and Hop Culture Magazine editor Grace Weitz followed Caitlin’s project for quite some time, even joining one of her pretzel-making classes before diving into this story. We’re especially thrilled that Grace highlighted one of our favorite brewery locations—Mare Island Brewing in Vallejo, CA—and interviewed Janet, Caitlin’s quiet yet formidable, world-class expert assistant, to uncover what this project is truly about.

Check out the article (and good luck dodging the pop-up ads).

For the record… Hop Culture is the #12 beer magazine in the world, and this article sat on the cover for eight days—so we can officially die happy.

Huge thanks to everyone involved!
